Slime Page
Since I am a Polymer Science major, I thought I can help you guys make slime. This procedure is simple and you can get all the ingredients at a local store.
Supplies:
- Borax (from the supermarket or a small box from a laundramat)
- Elmer's Glue-All (use white only)
- Water (tap would be fine)
- One large empty plastic jar with a lid that screws on and off
- Example: a large peanut butter
- One plain old cup
Instructions:
- Add together in a jar:
- 1/3 cup Elmer's Glue
- 1/3 cup Water
- food coloring
- Shake, stir or mix these ingredients until glue dissolves in water(If you shake it, I think it would be a good idea to screw the lid onto the jar. Would you agree!)
- Using the empty cup:
- Pour 1/3 cup of water into the cup
- Slowly pour in 2 tablespoons of Borax, allow to settle for a minute
- Pour out excess water and discard the water
- Scrape the wet Borax(from step #3) into the jar with mix(from step #2), close the lid
- Shake like crazy(and shake the jar too)...shake till the slosh becomes thumpy
- Open the jar and remove to GUK(don't forget to scrape the extra from the sides)
- PLAY TIME!!!
This slime may stain things. However, it is safe to handle but not good to eat
