Freeman's Oath

by
Thomas © 1991

The path I choose
       is to be Free,
It comes with great
       responsibility.
This road is long
       and sometimes hard,
But such is the life
       of this Bard.
I tell my tales
       from here to there,
Not for ego
       but cause I care.
I care a lot
       for those I meet,
And hope my words
       will set them free.

Now Freeman are
       a smallish bread,
Who never do things
       out of greed.
Our one concern
       is your welfare,
I say again
       because we care.
So if your wish
       is to be Free,
Then you must learn
       responsibility.
Responsible for
       all the things you do,
Even if they
       affect just you.
